Our research focuses on the intersection of agriculture, the environment, and the new life sciences with the goal of supporting the sustainable and productive management of agroecosystems. We have a diverse faculty whose research programs tackle questions that vary in scale from the molecular to the landscape. The research programs of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences can be broadly classified into the three major program areas of Crop Science, Soil Science, and Environmental Information Science. You can learn about individual faculty programs by following the links in this page or by seeing a list of our faculty . To learn more about the impacts of our research activities you can go to the CALS Impact Portal or browse the information provided on our faculty by the Vivo virtual life sciences library.
